Woldingham Hills

Fairseat is a large garden that required extensive terracing to create a space that was better used. Due to its size and natural fall away from the house, many parts of the garden were never ventured to. In creating areas to tempt the visitor and make it worthy of the journey, a sun terrace with garden room and raised pool for the children to use was situated at the very far end. This spot enjoys magnificent views of the South Downs.

The garden is now fully enjoyed by family and friends. The design and choice of materials was primarily led by the style of house and surrounding area, we wanted the garden to nestle within the surrounding countryside, frame the amazing views and mirror the rolling hills and clouds. The planting palette is soft undulating forms throughout with broad summer flowering meadows and beds of mixed perennials and strong mounds of shrubs that thrive on the solid chalk soil.
